EVENT: Exclusive Launch of Brugal Rum 1888

While the main bar was exclusively serving 1888 neat or on the rocks (I sipped mine neat), there were three other bars located in the lounge, serving up delicious Brugal Añejo Rum cocktails created by bartenders all over the country. (See two of my favorite recipes from the event at the end of the post.)
Once the rain let up, folks began to migrate from the glass-enclosed lounge to the stunning roof deck, which has sweeping jaw-dropping views of Manhattan and the Hudson River.

Here are the recipes for two of my favorite Brugal inspired cocktails of the evening. These drinks rock!

Rusty Cider – created by Jessie Windham (Rusty Spoon, Orlando)

.50 oz Absolute Orient Apple
.50 oz Cointreau
3 oz apple cider
Cinnamon stick.
In a mixing tin build all ingredients. Shake well. Pour over ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick and orange wedge.

.25 oz Aperol
3 to 5 Blueberries
3 to 5 Tarragon leaves
.75 oz Fresh lime juice
.75 oz Simple syrup to taste
Top with a splash of prosecco. Shake all ingredients except prosecco thoroughly. Strain over rocks and top with prosecco.
